When services that we pay to protect us,
COMPLETELY FAIL!

Carl Walker

Taunted:
Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover aged 11, hung himself.
Homophobic bullies continually taunted him with sexual slurs.
Carl was hardly of an age to know what sexuality he was, and why would it matter?
Gay, Transgender, and any number of human traits are perfectly normal.

It's quite often considered that those of the accusatory descriptive, are quite often themselves suppressing their own traits.
In this day and age, if this is you, you don't need to do that, just be open about your true self.
One day you will come to realise that the very person that you drove to their death, was possibly the best friend that you could have ever hoped for!

Young Carl had taken his own life, because idiots just couldn't see past their own prejudicial, or self suppressed stupidity.

Tormented:
Bullies continually tormented Carl, He was both a football player and a Boy Scout.
Yet on a daily basis he was called 'girlie,' 'gay' and 'fag'.
No-one, never mind a child so young should ever have to tolerate such abuse.

Carl was a gentle child, soft spoken, and generous to those that befriended him.
Its doubtful that he was ever even gay, but it shouldn't have been of any importance whatsoever.
The torment this poor child had to endure was a testament to how cruel people can be.
He was even threatened with death by an older gang of children.

EDUCATION FAILURES!

A Gentle Child Tormented To Death!

Prejudice:
It should be repeated often that education is to blame for all these pointless prejudices.
Making one particular religion a number one importance is wrong, very wrong!
And more-so is teaching that family always consists of male and female parents. That's not even true!

I'm not saying that religion shouldn't be taught, but as a complete subject, including the other 4,200 religions that actually exist.
And equally important is that science should be taught alongside them all, and people be allowed to decide which they prefer to believe in.

We allow people to vote at 18, have sexual relations at 18, then why not religious and scientific choice?
Some religions condemn certain traits in human beings, yet claim that we are all equal?
Personally I find the love between two people the most important factor, no matter what their sexuality.
Women are treated unfairly, but if you study science, DNA, RNA then it possibly created the male to serve, and not to dominate.
Study the subject of Queen bees?

Bullied to Death.

Suicide:
On Monday, the 6th of April, Carl's mother (Sirdeaner Walker), found her son dead.
He had hung himself with an extension cord from a third floor rafter of their home.
Carl had left a note for his mother explaining that he couldn't take it anymore.
This gentle child, had even included an apology to his family for his final act.

In that note he had bequeathed his Pokéman cards to his little brother.
Purely reflecting a sign of his youth, but also showing just what a selfless child he really was.
He had cared more for others, than he really should have cared for himself.
His mother had survived breast cancer, and now she was faced with surviving heartbreak.

Sirdeaner Walker would ferociously protect all of her four children.
She had even become active in the Parent Teachers Organisation.
But sadly just like most educational societies, they lacked lustre, and took very little action.
Carl had continued to be harassed, in fact bullied to death!

Carl will always be remembered.

Nothing Learnt:
What has society learnt from all these deaths?
Because very little has changed. Lots of words, and pointless 'PC laws', but educational institutions have still failed to learn lessons?
Harassment in both the UK, and the USA, is failing to move with the advances of science.
Stuck in a time loop of passing laws that have little to no effect whatsoever.

Fools:
No-one can ever know what was in Carl's mind that fateful day.
But just to know that someone can be so desperate is distressing within itself.
Bullies need to be taught consequences of their actions, and how one day they will regret their foolishness.
Acting tough, and bullying someone is the act of a fool.

If someone wants to demonstrate strength and become popular, then protect people, don't bully them!
Be a leader, not a follower of the sheep.
Show kindness and understanding, and the rewards won't just be from those that you protect, but the warmth that you will feel inside of yourself.
Life is a one way street, and its much shorter than you can ever imagine, so don't waste it!

Carl deserved to be treated as the kind young boy he really was.
We will never know what he may have aspired to become, but I'm guessing it would have been someone very special!
