Belly Mujinga

Belly Mujinga. Belly Mujinga.

Belly Mujinga: Born in Kinshasa, Zaire 1972/1973.
Died on the 5th of April, 2020 (aged 47), in Barnet Hospital, London, United Kingdom
Her Cause of death was complications related to COVID-19.

Husband, Lusamba Katalay.
Daughter: Ingrid.

She was a graduate from the University of Kinshasa, her degree was in journalism.
Belly was the first female sports reporter for for RTNC, the Congolese national broadcaster.
However, due to unrest after the assassination of President Laurent-Désiré Kabila in 2001, she relocated to the UK.

She was said to have a rare form of sarcoidosis, which has symptoms dependent on which organs are affected.
These can be tender red bumps on the skin, shortness of breath, and a persistent cough.
Although currently there is no cure, the symptoms can usually be managed with medicine.

Crown Prosecution Service: As a ticket office clerk at London's Victoria station, Belly Mujinga was known as a very popular conscientious worker, and always tried to help everyone.
I've been studying her case for several months now after being told that there was no further action to be taken over her unusual death.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) were requested to investigate her death after she was allegedly spat at during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Ms Mujinga, 47, died with Covid-19 on 5 April, a few weeks after the incident at London's Victoria station.

Angry Male:
Allegedly what happened that day was a 57 year old male had approached them and started immediately shouting at Belly and her colleague worker.
He was said to have shouted at Belly and the colleague, 'What are you doing here'? Belly replied 'Can’t you see we're working ... We're wearing uniforms'.
And the man yelled back at them, 'You can’t be here ... I've got Covid, I'll give it to you'.
At this point it was stated that the angry male shouted, and then spat, hitting them both.

Police had reviewed the CCTV footage, which lacked any specific detail, but they concluded without any doubt that something had actually happened there!

INVESTIGATION!

Bad Decision:
In the ensuing investigation the colleague appeared to give the angry male the benefit of the doubt.
They stated that he may have had no teeth, and spat as he spoke.
Belly insisted he had actually spat at them deliberately.
British Transport Police concluded that Belly Mujinga's death was not linked to the incident, and they simply closed the case.

Petition:
The case was closed based on the result that by the time they tested him the angry male didn't have any virus.
But nowhere can I find any information to verify if tests were ever carried out to see if he'd recently recovered from it?
The facts remain that even her colleague had become very ill, but later recovered, and again no evidence to state what they had recovered from?

Over 2 million people signed a petition to have the case re-investigated.
However, even when the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) re-investigated, they found that there was insufficient evidence to support a prosecution.

QUESTIONS!

Belly Mujinga.

Re-investigate:
Well, I guess reading the above you could conclude that he didn't kill Belly Mujinga.
Therefore we should just discount it and move on, as if nothing had actually happened that fateful day?
Unfortunately I study injustice, and I see so many holes in this incident.

My Questions...

(1) If he truly believed that he had Covid, and wasn't wearing a mask, then why would he even approach them?
(2) Why would any male have such an aggressive attitude towards two females?
(3) If he actually knew that he didn't have the virus, then why lie and threaten them with it?
(4) Was his anger based on race? Because it certainly displayed hatred!
(5) Did anyone actually check to confirm what the colleague had stated, when she said, 'he had no teeth'?
(6) Was the colleague just simply afraid that if she related as to what really happened, she might lose her job?
(7) What was this male actually doing before he approached them, and got so angry. Was it based on guilt?
(8) Is it possible that they could have actually saved the station from a would be crime, by interrupting him with their presence?
(9) Threatening someone with Covid is actually a crime, and police officers themselves had experienced these threats, so why no fine?
(10) Was any background check carried out on this aggressive male, to ascertain if he had any history of violence towards women, mental issues, or racism?
(11) If he really hadn't got Covid, when they tested him, then was he tested to discover if he had already recovered from it?
(12) Why exactly was this bad tempered male suspect allowed to remain completely anonymous?

The fact remains that he threatened her at 11:22 a.m. on the 21st of March, 2020, and Belly Mujinga died on the 5th of April, 2020, just 15 days later!

So many factors in this incident do not sit right with me ... Why was there no Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available?
This crime occurred at a time when the Metropolitan Police were coming under scrutiny for treating many criminal cases with great indifference, based on race?
Clearly this was a hate crime, he approached them, he threatened them, and then he spat at them.
Not withstanding that anger was clearly based on strong emotion ... It displayed a grievance towards those that it was carried out upon (Hate Crime)?!

CHANGE REQUIRED!

Belly Mujinga.

Hate Crime:
The death of Belly Mujinga has resulted in leaving behind a grieving husband and 11 year-old daughter.
In a world of injustice, I find this case completely overlooked and badly investigated.
My own conclusion would be that this male should have at least been prosecuted for the possibility of committing a hate crime.
Anger and potential life threatening behaviour towards females, 'is a crime'!

Therefore even if he didn't directly kill her, he certainly affected her health due to the fear that she must have felt.

Required Changes: Our government is flying in the face of adversity right now, and if they want peoples full respect, then reinforce these hate incidents.
The police need to adhere to these laws created to protect citizens such as Belly Mujinga, and her colleague.

Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and section 66 of the Sentencing Act 2020, states that any crime can be prosecuted as a hate crime if the offender has committed any of the following...
Demonstrated hostility based on race, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation or Transgender identity.

For the police to simply state that from the CCTV evidence they had felt sure that something had taken place, then its clear that this was based on some form of hatred!

Its also time that education was shook up, and started to include valuable life lessons.
Possibly an acting class to enact how bullies and racists would feel if it were they that were the victims of their own stupidity.
Parents should also have more involvement, because its pointless teaching a child to be fair if the parents have their own issues?

We need to send a clear message to education, government, and police that the services they provide, are eroding the future of this country!
Give the family clear answers by investigating the angry male thoroughly, then prosecute him, at least for his threatening behaviour!

RIP.
