Caroline Louise Flack was 40 years old.
Police Intimidation?
Happy, and full of fun.
HER BRILLIANT CARREER!
Celebrity:
Caroline Louise Flack was a much loved English television and radio presenter.
She began her career as an actress, starring in Bo' Selecta! and presented various ITV2 shows including,
I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW! and The Xtra Factor.
She was a great entertainer, and often tied audiences around her little finger as everyone just loved her.
Simply Human:
Sometimes we all tend to forget that behind every great entertainer is a human being with strengths and weaknesses.
Celebrity's aren't super beings. In the words of William Shakespeare, 'cut us, do we not bleed?', rings true?
A celebrity can sometimes be under way too much pressure, at which point, it would take very little to break them.
We all forget that life isn't just a bed of Roses, and even if it was ... Roses have thorns..!
Look at the despair and sadness in her face?.
Knee Jerk Reactions:
Caroline was accused of assault, and had admitted to striking her boyfriend whilst he slept.
She had her phone in one hand, and his in another, when she struck him.
Caroline had seen a message from another woman on his phone.
Having read it, she got upset, and its also worth considering that as she was in bed, she was possibly very tired.
When people are tired, they can't always think straight, because they're not fully in charge of all their senses.
So the phone may have struck him, but again, it could have been put down to a knee jerk reaction, and not a truly deliberate act.
Did the police even bother to take into consideration, any of these facts?
If any partner sees a message from a potential lover, they're certainly not going to ignore it?
Crime Of Passion:
So Caroline had suspected that her boyfriend may have cheated on her.
She felt hurt, and may have struck out. In reality, that's just a crime of passion.
Because at that moment in time, she had felt that the love she had given to him, had just been betrayed.
As for hitting him with the phone, she had possibly just wanted to slap him, but forgotten that the phone was in her hand.
It was possibly just a misjudged reaction.
But at the end of the day, her boyfriend told the police that he did not want her prosecuted.
No evidence whatsoever was presented to the CPS, and they wanted to just give her a warning.
That should have been the end of the matter.
This is the face of a very worried person.
COP WANTED LIMELIGHT!
Fames Downsides:
Caroline wasn't just any member of the public though, was she?
So a certain Detective, namely, Inspector Lauren Bateman.
Decided to push for an assault charge, and the CPS were forced to stand down.
Its a shame that this detective didn't follow the correct protocol and do exactly the same..!
The detectives only comment was, that they treated everyone the same, and even suggested that it was standard practice for all police forces!
So a detectives job is to overrule the CPS, and take charge of simple crimes of passion?
Determined:
The detective had argued that it was in the public interest to bring about an assault charge against her.
It was clearly in someones interest to get themselves noticed?
However, in what possible interest would it be to chastise a lovable entertainer?
And what could possibly be learnt from it? Are people supposed to imagine that it sets an example?
Should we believe that the police are protecting people from celebrity's?
Or could it just be probable cause for someone suggesting that this would be good for their own publicity?
Profit before people, is not a moralistic principle. Its quite the opposite!
Whatever happened to the voice of reason?
Suicide:
Caroline died on the 15th of February 2020, a day after Valentines day.
Broken hearted, confused, and frightened. Where was the justice in any of this?
The ex-Love Island, and X Factor host was sadly found dead at her home in Stoke Newington, London.
The day before her death, Caroline had found out that she would be prosecuted.
She was terrified of the press intrusion.
The coroner Mary Hassell ruled her death as suicide.
And the word suicide seems to cover up so many authoritarian crimes..!
RIP.
Udate 13/02/2023:
Caroline Flack's family given an apology almost 3 years after her death.
The apology was given by the Metropolitan Police for not keeping any record as to why it had charged her with an assault.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) carried out a review after Caroline's mother complained.
Caroline's mother is still very angry with the police, a view shared by very many, including myself..!
THE WORD 'RESPECT', HAS SIMPLY BEEN REPLACED WITH THE WORD, 'DISREGARD'.
