Fiona Pilkington: Was a 38 year old woman.
Francecca Hardwick (Daughter): Was just an 18 year old child.
Police ignored their cries for help?
No Punches Pulled:
These deaths are still part of the systemic faults within the police system.
This was a woman alone with her special child, and a gang of 16 bullies.
What part of those words does not spell 'DANGER'?
Profiling by race, and even Individual profiling exists..!
If the police can avoid doing anything for you, they will.
They are not, and never will be your friends, and this needs to change!
Fiona Pilkington's home was in Barwell, and for over 10 years she was repeatedly targeted by a group, consisting of 16 young people.
They threw stones, eggs, and flour at her home.
On one occasion, Francecca was forced to lift up her night-dress, whilst her brother Anthony was locked in a shed at knife-point.
Francecca was a special child, and her mental age was around 4 years old, this little girl had no way to protect herself.
All these incidents were reported, and Fiona kept a detailed log, but she only ever received just eight visits from the police.
This was from 33 calls for their help.
Absolute Terror:
It follows that she was subjected to a kind of hell on earth, and simply left by herself to fend off the attackers to protect her terrified child.
In an act of desperation and fear, she finally got into her car, then poured petrol over herself and her daughter.
They both died in an inferno, and what could be described as the smoke from neglect.
Beggars the question as to how can this kind of failure be forgiven by a simple apology from the police?
To do what she felt was her only recourse, had to come from a tortured soul, and the complete failure of an uncaring society..!
No Real Vision:
This could have been so easily prevented,
by simple visits, and stern warnings to the offenders.
None so blind, as those that refuse to see?
RIP.
VULNERABLE!
In Conclusion.
IPCC:
The Independent Police Complaints Commission investigated and produced their own report.
It concluded that the police had completely failed to identify that Ms Pilkington and her daughter were vulnerable.
A complete decade of abuse by a gang of youth, had caused so much mental stress it resulted in fatalities.
It appears that a body of people were paid to make a report on what the public would have already concluded when the incident appeared on the news and in newspapers?
Even though Ms Pilkington had continually reported all the incidents, and even kept a detailed log, she received almost no help whatsoever.
Chief Constable Simon Cole (2007), had confirmed that the civil claim had now been settled outside of court.
One thing to note, is that it was done without any admission of liability!
He felt that it was the correct thing to do, inasmuch to draw a line under litigation?
Nothing Ever Changes:
In essence keeping something out of court does not serve the public whatsoever.
The following statements are also completely out of context with the reality, here in 2021.
The Chief Constable had also added that since the sad events in October 2007 the force had made significant changes to the way anti-social behaviour is dealt with.
It included that the way in which vulnerability is identified it would ensure that the right support would be given in the future.
That was back in 2007, and many similar incidents are displayed within these pages since that date.
Any and all rights of the public are simply being pushed aside to make way for the politically correct.
These laws that they're creating is doing nothing, but causing a divide between people.
It would serve better for the police to have a public face, and encourage open discussions to change the way that vulnerable people are treated.
Police officers need to understand that they serve the public, and have no right to simply judge people.
This quite often happens when someone is panicked by a bad event, and possibly involves them in anger.
But instead of calming them down with reassurance, the police threaten to arrest them, and simply do nothing about the true problem.
And this is where the main issues lie, because its all down to a false sense of power that many police officer assume they have over the public.
This has been a systemic problem that goes back to the very beginning of police intervention.
Power corrupts ... Absolute power corrupts absolutely?
