Rekia Boyd.
Rekia Boyd:
Rekia was 22 years old, and she died on the 12th of March, 2012.
Chicago police detective Dante Servin, had got into a verbal altercation with one person amongst a larger group of individuals.
Rekia Boyd was standing amongst them in Douglas Park, located on the South Side.
From his unmarked car, Servin turned the wrong way on a one-way street, and then he fired five rounds over his left shoulder out of the car window.
One of the rounds struck the hand of a man in the group, and another hit Rekia in the back of her head.
She died less than 24 hours later.
Police initially claimed that a man in the group approached Servin with a weapon, prompting Servin to fire, 'fearing for his life'?
The Independent Police Review Authority later stated that they had found no such person or any weapons at the scene.
The man described was reportedly holding just a cell phone, and not a gun!
Rekia had paid the price of her precious life, for an officer that was clearly never fit for duty..!
Renisha McBride.
Renisha McBride:
Renisha was 19 years old, and died on the 2nd of November, 2013.
She was murdered outside the home of Theodore Wafer a White 55 year old male, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
Renisha McBride had crashed her car at a street in Detroit.
She had managed to walk to a neighbourhood in Dearborn Heights, and knock on Wafers door.
He answered with a shotgun in his hand, and within a few seconds had shot her through the door screen, directly into her face.
Her family says that she was just disoriented and looking for some help.
The homeowner said he thought she was going to rob him, (burglary).
He also states that it was an accident, and he didn't know it was loaded?
Anyone with a brain that functions even slightly would be aware if a shotgun was actually loaded?
Also a shotgun is a weapon you keep your finger clear of the trigger, unless you intend to discharge it.
Unusually, it's reported that Theodore Wafer, received a 17 to 32 year sentence for second degree murder.
It won't bring back 19 year old Renisha, but it will allow her family some justice and a chance to heal.
McBride’s sister, Jasmine, 23, has said that she was 'very satisfied' with the sentence,
although she did not believe Wafer's statement was ever actually sincere...
Sandra Bland.
Sandra Bland:
Sandra was 28 years old, and she died on the 13th of July, 2015.
She was found hanged to death in a jail cell, which was in Waller County, Texas.
Sandra allegedly hung herself with a plastic bag, which seems an extremely strange thing to do?
This was just three days after her being arrested during a pre-textual traffic stop.
The trooper Brian Encinia, claims that 'he feared for his life', because he alleged that she had kicked him, and a fight ensued.
Her death was ruled a suicide?
It was later followed by protests against her arrest, disputing that the true cause of death, was possibly racial violence used against her.
UPDATE:
More than meets the eye!
Originally, there was not much I could find about Sandras death, as there was very little information available.
However, since this event, a video from Sandra Blands phone has emerged, and it was sent anonymously.
The video proves that Brian Encinia, the trooper that arrested her, had no reason whatsoever to fear for his life.
It also questioned whether he should face charges beyond perjury.
I watched the video, and can confirm that the trooper acted way too aggressively for little to no reason at all.
She had failed to signal a lane change, that's all she did, a caution would have sufficed!
He tells her to, 'get out of the car', then threatens her with his Taser, saying, 'I will light you up'.
What is he, 6 years old?
Listening to her, she is not a person that would ever hang herself, she's sounds a strong confident woman to me.
The trooper did a deal, and simply resigned from the force.
Which leaves many questions as to, if there was something more sinister that had occurred?
Why would she even hang herself over a possible fine, and why even put her in jail, in the first place?
There is also a much bigger question that demands to be answered, did 'SHE', hang 'HERSELF'?
Seems to me that the trooper resigned to get away from so much more than just a simple reprimand..!
This reeks of racism, and the fight for Sandra's justice should never stop..!
New Video Evidence.
Shantel Davis.
Shantel Davis:
Shantel was 23 years old, and she died on the 14th of June, 2012.
She was shot and Killed by a NYPD officer Phil Atkins, based in Brooklyn.
Shantel was completely unarmed, and the officer was reaching across her whilst she was seated in a car.
The car had been chased, and was allegedly stolen, it came to a halt when it struck another vehicle (mini van).
He stated that he had reached into the car to put it into park, to stop her from driving off.
His gun apparently simply just went off.
A witness stated that she couldn't have driven off, as the police car was way too close.
The officers demanded that she got out of the car, even though she'd been shot.
When she complied, she simply stumbled onto the street, bleeding profusely.
There was a large crowd, and they all seemed horrified at the events.
A woman from the crowd of around 100 onlookers 'cradled [Davis] in her arms and rubbed her head'.
This was described by another witness Nacole Daniel, 26.
It seems quite obvious to me that many of these car chases, end with police officers in an over adrenalised state.
In my opinion, when a car chase ends, it should be cordoned off, and then fresh police officers should take over.
In the case of all these car chases, shots seem to always be fired in some kind of unconscious reaction?
Deadly force in this particular action was completely unnecessary.
In one report it stated that his gun went off on its own, in another he accuses Shantel of trying to grab the gun.
This conflict of evidence always designates that someone is withholding the truth.
Officer Phil Atkins has been indicted for attempted murder, although I cannot find any results of this case?
SAY HER NAME!
Shereese Francis.
Shereese Francis:
Shereese was 29 years old, and she died on the 15th of March, 2012.
No less than four New York Police Department (NYPD) officers suffocated her, in her own home.
She was diagnosed with schizophrenia whilst studying at Nassau Community College,
Her schizophrenia was controlled by the use of medication, and she worked very hard in school.
On the evening before her death, she had discontinued her regular use of medication.
This led to the following day, her suffering a bad mental episode.
In this state she was unable to cooperate with her families advice, to take her medicines.
Her sister Shauna, decided to phone the non emergency number (311), to get some medical help.
Unfortunately they passed her over to 911, and they informed her that someone was on there way.
Four police officers turned up, but Shereese got confused and felt scared and threatened.
The officers then attempted to handcuff her, which is clearly counter productive for someone that just needs some understanding, not bullying.
She broke away and ran to the basement, and the officers wrongfully pursued her.
Wrong? Because at that point they should have given her some space, and got someone professional to talk to her.
Instead of that the four of them piled on top of her, pinning her down with their combined weight crushing the very life out of her.
Inevitably, she could not breath, and sadly went into cardiac arrest.
Within a space of 20 minutes they had managed to murder her, she had stopped breathing, due to the pressure of their incompetence.
Two hours later at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, she was pronounced dead, at just 30 years old.
The medical examiner ruled her death as a homicide, with the cause of death being compression of the trunk.
This was clearly due to these four uncaring police officers method of restraint.
Also wrong was the evidence being withheld from her family, until someone managed to leak it to the Wall Street Journal.
If 311 had simply sent medical personal, she would probably still be alive today.
Which backs the suggestion that police should never be used for mental health patients.
Seeing uniforms instead of white coats would unnerve anyone.
It's becoming increasingly clear in this day and age, police are not your friends, and they can no longer be trusted..!
Shelly Frey.
Shelly Frey:
Shelly was 27 years old, and she died on the 6th of December, 2012.
She was shot twice whilst sat in the passenger seat of a car, unarmed!
Louis Campbell was an off duty Walmart security worker, in Houston, Texas.
Campbell had 'suspected' her of shoplifting.
However, you do not shoot shoplifters, especially those that are only 'SUSPECTED'?
Legal Action was taken against Campbell, but he has never faced any charges.
When he opened fire, there were two children sat in the back seat of her car.
He could have easily wounded or killed, one, or both of them!
This was clearly reckless endangerment, and what he did was completely insane.
Especially when you consider that he killed her for a 'SUSPECTED', few groceries?
The children in the car were not Shelly's children, but she left behind a 2 year old daughter with sickle cell anaemia.
Campbell states that she drove away, and he feared for his life, but the car was actually reversing 'AWAY', from him.
The police still coldly prosecuted her friend for shoplifting.
Maybe they did take a few items, but that doesn't justify deadly force..!
Neighbours described Davis as a woman who was attempting to get her life back in order.
One of her neighbours, Kelvia Joseph, 24, said. 'She was sweet. She did her stuff on the side, but she was a good person'.
Arthur Post, a retired corrections captain, said 'She was a fine young lady. Always polite, no sir, yes sir'.
Don't you sometimes wish you could be there when this kind of thing occurs, and simply pay for the goods, and let a struggling mother just go home and feed her suffering child?
Tanisha Anderson.
Tanisha Anderson:
Tanisha was 37 years old, and she died on the 13th of November, 2014.
On that fateful day, Tanisha was having a mental health issue.
So her parents took the decision to phone the police to get her some help.
The Cleveland police arrived and the family agreed to let them take her to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
On the way to the car, she was said by the police, to have started struggling, (Clearly Afraid).
It was later discovered that one officer had used a take down method, which involves roughly wrestling someone to the ground, then putting his knee on her back.
He did this manoeuvre, and she suddenly and inexplicably, became limp, because she had suffered a sudden death, associated with physical restraint.
Her death was ruled as a homicide by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
The two officers involved were placed on restricted duty.
Again they send inexperienced police officers to do the job of trained medical staff.
Had they done so, Tanisha Anderson would still be alive today..!
We see this time and time again, yet I fail to find anyone recommending other ways of dealing more carefully with people that suffer mental issues?
Tarika Wilson.
Tarika Wilson:
Tarika was 26 years old, and she died on the 4th of January, 2008.
Lima, Ohio, police officer Joseph Chavalia had shot her dead.
She was holding her baby at the time, and the shot even injured the child, (Son).
Her son later had to have his finger amputated.
Tarika was killed during a raid on her home, targeting her boyfriend (Anthony Terry).
Her boyfriend had been suspected of drug dealing
Tarika had taken her six children into a bedroom to keep them all safe.
The officers had already shot two of their dogs.
Following that, officer Chavalia then fired blindly into the bedroom, killing Tarika instantly.
Lima has been said to be a very racist town, with many complaints against white police officers.
Unbelievably in August 2008, an all white jury acquitted Joseph Chavalia of any criminal charges.
He has since returned to the force, but is not permitted to go on patrols.
The family a few years later were awarded $2.5 million for her wrongful death.
Tarikas' mother has since raised her daughters children.
The shooting, and the subsequent acquittal of this officer, highlighted racial inequality.
And the issue of all the police brutality helped generate the Black Lives Matter movement during the next decade.
Does anyone feel that this officer should be charged with manslaughter at the very least, and discharged permanently from law enforcement?
SAY HER NAME!
Yvette Smith.
Yvette Smith:
Yvette was 47 years old, and she died on the 16th of February, 2014.
She was a completely innocent victim, that was shot twice by an AR-15 assault rifle.
She had simply phoned the police to help end an argument between two males that involved one of them having a gun.
By the time the police arrived the dispute was over and settled.
Unfortunately a former white Texas police officer, (Daniel Willis), had responded to the call.
He had ordered Yvette to come outside, and she instantly obeyed, and opened the door.
As she stepped outside, it was clear to see she was unarmed, but Willis shouted 'Police', and then immediately opened fire on her.
She died in the hospital after being shot twice by Willis, who was incidentally using his own personal AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.
Media reports were falsified to show Willis as a good police officer, doing his duty.
The report had read that she'd come out with a gun, and he'd told her several times, to put it down, that's why he shot her.
It was all lies, and even other officers had lied for him.
The audio recording proved without a shadow of a doubt, that Willis had simply shouted, 'police', and then three seconds later, he shot her without cause.
Willis had been rejected for patrol officer jobs by other law enforcement agencies.
This included the Austin police department, where he had failed the psychological examination.
Less than two weeks after the shooting and with the investigation ongoing, Terry Pickering, the Bastrop sheriff,
had told the Austin American-Statesman that some of his staff had tampered with Willis’s training records in order to fix mistakes, by getting them properly signed.
Willis had previously worked as a deputy in Bastrop for less than a year before the killing.
He was fired after being charged with murder.
All this, and yet he was still found not guilty of murdering Yvette Smith..!
Yet another victim of total 'INJUSTICE'!
As are all those Above..!
The number of people that die each year as a direct result of police interventions, are estimated between 400, to over 1000.
Given the data available, it is strongly suggested that African Americans are disproportionately affected.
It's very clear that the unfairness of both America, and the UK, in their treatment of other races is bordering on inhumanity.
This country boasts about its interracial harmony, but its far from it, when considering the treatment by police!
Something needs to change, and it needs to change NOW..!
